As the closest hotel to one of Britain’s most celebrated and best loved historic houses and estates, East Lodge is offering visitors the chance to stay and dine at the award winning hotel and restaurant with their special Chatsworth break rates, as the renowned Chatsworth House and gardens opens its doors for the 2010 season.
Set in the heart of the Peak District National Park, East Lodge is offering a special rate for guests wanting to take in the nearby Chatsworth experience, with tickets to the house and gardens included with their stay. From just £180.00 per person per night, the package also includes bed, award winning breakfast and a 3 course dinner in the hotel’s 2 AA rosette restaurant *
“Chatsworth is so near to East Lodge we already encourage all our guests to visit the estate,” said East Lodge director Iain Hardman. “As the house and gardens opened last week, it made sense for East Lodge as the nearest hotel to Chatsworth, to put together a package for people specifically coming to the area to visit the estate.”
The start of British Tourism Week 15-21 March, coincides with Chatsworth having more of the house open to visitors with newly restored rooms on display and a completely new gallery. Celebrating the 90th birthday of Deborah Devonshire, the Dowager Duchess, a special exhibition in her honour will be on display until the end of October. East Lodge is launching its own offer, hoping to help promote local tourism and attract more visitors to the stunning area.
“The fact is the tourism industry in Derbyshire is worth a staggering £1.4 billion every year and employing over 24,000 people, makes a significant contribution to both local and national GDP.”
Iain continued: “British Tourism Week is about highlighting these facts and importance of our industry, while showcasing the excellent experiences and destinations we have in this country. East Lodge and Chatsworth are perfect local examples of the very best hotels and attractions our region has to offer.”
East Lodge is owned by the Hardman family and has picked up a wide range of prestigious accolades over recent years. The hotel has again achieved the coveted AA “Inspectors’ Choice” accolade with three red stars for 2010, placing it within the top 150 hotels in the UK and East Lodge is one of just 48 hotels in UK presented with a Visit England Gold Award.
