East Lodge Hotel and Restaurant – Environmental Statement
East Lodge Hotel and Restaurant is a country house set in 10 acres of glorious Derbyshire
Countryside. It is an AA Inspector’s Choice Red Star Top Hotel and the only Peak District hotel
a Gold Award from Visit Britain.
As the owners of East Lodge, we are committed to improving the environmental performance
of the business by driving down CO2 emissions and reducing, re-using and recycling our waste.
We recognise that what East Lodge does today affects the environment of both current and future
generations. Therefore, we are committed to continually improve our performance. Our aim is to
ensure that the hotel

Identify and address the aspects of our business that have an impact on the

Ensure that consideration for the environment becomes a part of our strategic
planning, decision making and procurement policies;

Control our use of resources and have a consideration to sourcing goods locally;
Reduce, re-use and re-cycle waste materials wherever practical;
Prevent pollution and contamination; and,
Encourage and influence our contractors and suppliers to work with us in securing
beneficial change in our shared environmental impacts.
The environmental policy of East Lodge states our long-term commitment to update company
procedures so that they reflect advances in environmental understanding, changes in environmental
law and best practice guidance.
We recognise that our environmental objectives will only be achieved through the personal
involvement of all of our staff. We will train them to develop an understanding of our commitment
and to encourage them to suggest ideas as to how, as a team, we can ensure that East Lodge
addresses its environmental impact. In this regard, East Lodge will implement an environmental
management system and ultimately seek accreditation for ISO 14001.
