Mothering Sunday Lunch – Sunday 30th March 2014



Chef’s freshly made leek and potato soup

Black pudding, apple and bacon salad

Platter of smoked Scottish salmon, traditionally garnished with a horseradish and lemon cream

Chicken liver parfait, mulled fruit chutney, mulled wine reduction and Melba toast

Classic prawn cocktail with iceberg lettuce, Marie Rose sauce and buttered granary bread

Ham hock terrine with apple and pink peppercorn chutney and sour dough bread

Salt baked beetroot with goats’ cheese mousse and honey granola


Main Courses

Choose your traditional “Sunday Roast” from:


·        Prime aged sirloin of Derbyshire beef from Highfield House Farm

·        Loin of Peak District pork with crispy crackling, apple sauce and stuffing

·        Rosemary and garlic breast of Barlow turkey with creamed parsnips and fried bacon crumbs

All roast dishes are served with duck fat roast potatoes, homemade Yorkshire puddings and side dishes of mixed seasonal vegetables, cauliflower cheese, mashed potatoes and plenty of real gravy.

Braised shank of Peak District lamb, with creamed potatoes, roasted shallots and chestnut jus

Pan fried fillet of salmon with buttered new potatoes, broccoli and a parsley sauce

Pan fried chicken breast with bacon, broad beans, creamed potatoes and sage jus

Portobello mushroom steamed suet pudding with, creamed potatoes, and spinach and onion purée
