Valentine Dinner Menu for Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th February 2016

Celebrate at East Lodge for our special St Valentine’s dinner. Relax and enjoy a welcome glass of Champagne & canapés before we take your order

First Course

Cream of butternut squash and carrot soup, scented with sage
Seared scallops with spiced sweet potato purée and crispy seaweed with a ginger infused soy dressing
Baked goats cheese in a filo parcel, fine ratatouille, olive caramel and red pepper reduction
Smoked breast of duck, celeriac remoulade, toasted hazelnuts & preserved blood orange
Rope grown Scottish mussels cooked in a Thai spiced coconut broth with pickled vegetables
For Two: - An assiette of salmon to share; smoked, poached, cured, tartare, confit and sashimi
Lemon sorbet with elderflower granita

Main Courses

Braised short rib of beef, smoked mash, a sauté of mushrooms, bacon and baby onions, Henderson’s reduction and pan juices
Roast rack of Derbyshire lamb with a caramelised garlic and parsley crust, dauphinoise potatoes, and pancetta wrapped French beans with a Port wine sauce
Medallions of Derbyshire venison, creamed Savoy cabbage, fondant potato, poached Comice pear, redcurrant jelly and a bitter chocolate sauce
Fillet of lemon sole ‘Veronique’, duchess potato and a Noilly Prat cream sauce and grapes
Seared fillet of rod caught sea bass, Boulangère potatoes, fresh clams, basil oil and an air dried tomato butter sauce
Pan fried potato gnocchi, wild mushrooms, caramelized shallots, fennel confit and a light Parmesan cream scented with white truffle


For sharing: An assiette of East Lodge desserts:- Dark chocolate brownie, salted caramel, white chocolate mousse and orange with coffee and cardamom ice cream
Lemongrass and mango crème brûlée with meringue and passion fruit sorbet
 ‘Peach Melba’ Our pastry chef’s modern version of the Queens favourite dessert 
A selection of ice creams and sorbets
Selection of farmhouse cheeses with crackers, grapes, celery and quince jelly
